Marwan Ahmad
President
Marwan Ahmad is the founder and president of the Arab American Business Council since 2014. He is the President of Arabesque Media a Virginia based marketing and publishing company. Mr. Ahmad has a degree in Computer Information Systems and additional education in marketing, TV producing and non-profit management. He has been in the marketing and publishing business since 1994. He served on a media training mission to Italy with the State Department touring four cities to speak, educate and train local ethnic media. Mr. Ahmad specializes in general marketing and publishing for businesses in the US as well as companies that do business in the Middle East. His company's client include State Department, Qatar Airways, Etihad, Qatar Foundation International, Embassies among others. He is also the Co-founder of Arabfest in Virginia, Co-founder of Little Arabia in Anaheim California and publisher of the Arab American Voice and US Qatar Network. Mr. Ahmad received number of awards from ADC-Arizona, CAIR-Arizona, Attorney General's Award for Community Service, Arizona and American Muslim Women Association, Arizona.
Bassem Yamak
Treasurer
Bassem Yamak is a Real Estate Consultant for the largest franchised real estate company worldwide, Keller Williams Realty. Bassem obtained his real estate license in 2005, and also has nearly 30 years of finance experience. The foundation of his business is built on referrals and an exemplary ethical standard. He has a pleasant and easy going personality. His mission is to provide you with an experience that goes beyond your expectations. Bassem is dedicated to helping his clients and their satisfaction is his highest priority. He treats each client as if he is buying or selling his own home. He is a tireless negotiator on his clients' behalf to get them the best deal possible. Bassem, with his lovely wife and 3 children, has been living in Fairfax County for over 30 years, and has an extensive knowledge of the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area. Bassem strives to be a good neighbor through volunteering his time to our community. His hobbies include cooking, playing tennis, chess and cards.
Aida Mady
Business Women's Affairs
Born in Cairo, Egypt, Aida is the youngest of eight children. Her passion for cooking blossomed from a young age as she helped her mother in the kitchen. She is now living in Northern Virginia where she and her husband raised their three children. In 2012, she launched Cooking and Beyond (www.cookingandbeyond.com) with the help of business training and mentoring from Empowered Women International (EWI). Aida shares EWI’s vision for using the arts as a unifying language of multicultural understanding, and Aida’s art is cooking. She is an active volunteer with the Muslim Women’s Association, Baltimore Luxor Alexandria Sister City Committee and the Egyptian American Cultural Association, and is involved in many fundraising events.
Merfat Mohammed

Merfat moved from Paris, France to the United States in 1999 with her husband in hopes of utilizing her motivation in being an independent entrepreneur. Following her arrival, she gained her Associates in Science from NVCC and she is in the process of getting a Bachelor's in Accounting and Business Administration. Overall, she is a hardworking and very dedicated individual, with the ability to not only work and attend school, but also care for her kids. Merfat is wholeheartedly passionate in ensuring that she can provide the best suitable living space as real estate which become her entire world and focus (and so are her clients!). She is bilingual and fluent in speaking , reading and writing in both Arabic and English! 

Khalid Mekki

Dr. Khalid Mekki brings over 20 years of experience in business and engineering, the food service industry, and the Biopharmaceuticals and medical devices industries, and has an extensive automotive systems background. Dr. Mekki has engineered and launched groundbreaking products with significant exposure working in cross functional teams, applying varied and concurrent engineering principles. Dr. Mekki has coauthored the first published book on Medical Device Design for Six Sigma and he holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Mekki enjoys cooking and spending time with his wife and four children. He is owner of the community staple Bawadi Mediterranean Grill in Falls Church, Virginia."
